നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾ പഴക്കമുള്ള പുരാതനമായ ഒരു ആരാധനാലയമാണ് ശ്രീ വല്ലോറക്കാവ് ക്ഷേത്രം. 1992-ൽ അന്നത്തെ ഭൂവുടമയായിരുന്ന ശ്രീ മംഗലശ്ശേരി നാരായണ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രവും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള 56 സെന്റ് ഭൂമിയും ശ്രീ വല്ലോറക്കാവ് ക്ഷേത്ര സമിതിക്ക് കൈമാറി. സ്വാമി ചിദാനന്ദപുരിയുടെ രക്ഷാകർതൃത്വത്തിൽ ക്ഷേത്രം പുനരുദ്ധരിക്കുകയും പുതുക്കിപ്പണിയുകയും ചെയ്തു. എടവലത്ത് പുടയൂർ കുബേരൻ നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാടിന്റെ മുഖ്യകാർമ്മികത്വത്തിലാണ് പുനഃപ്രതിഷ്ഠാ കർമ്മങ്ങൾ നടന്നത്.

Sree Vallorakkavu is an ancient (hoary) temple with a history spanning centuries. In 1992, the then-owner of the land, Sri Mangalassery Narayana Swami, handed over the temple and 56 cents of surrounding land to the Sri Vallorakkavu Kshethra Samithi. Under the patronage of Swami Chidananda Puri, the temple was completely reconstructed and renovated. The Puna-Prathishta (re-installation) was performed by the revered Thanthri Sri Edavalath Pudayoor Kuberan Namboothiripad.
The temple is part of the Advaithashramam complex, which is a major center for Vedanta studies and Sanatana Dharma propagation in North Kerala. കൊളത്തൂർ അദ്വൈതാശ്രമത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ഉത്തരകേരളത്തിലെ വേദാന്ത പഠനത്തിന്റെയും സനാതന ധർമ്മ പ്രചരണത്തിന്റെയും പ്രധാന കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്.
The temple is unique as its daily rituals and poojas are performed by the inmates of the Advaithashramam, maintaining a highly spiritual and disciplined atmosphere. It is located in the serene village of Kolathur, approximately 24 km from Kozhikode city.
