Story
The Mallikarjuna Temple blends history with mythology. It is believed that the temple was established by the Ikkeri Kings in the 17th century for warriors brought from Karnataka, giving it a strong cultural connection to the region. Alongside this historical background, local tradition holds that Arjuna, one of the Pandavas from the Mahabharata, consecrated the idol of Lord Shiva here. This combination of royal patronage and epic legend gives the temple a deep spiritual significance and enduring cultural identity.
