History

Payyanur Subrahmanya Swamy Temple is believed to have ancient origins dating back several centuries. Historical references suggest that the temple once suffered damage during the invasions of Tipu Sultan and was later rebuilt and renovated by devotees and local rulers. The temple follows traditional Kerala Tantric rituals and preserves many ancient customs that are still practiced today.
