Story
According to temple legend, Lord Krishna reached Trichambaram after defeating the evil king Kamsa and the elephant Kuvalayapeeda. Unlike the calm and playful form usually seen in Krishna temples, the deity here represents Krishna in an intense and powerful mood after the battle. It is believed that because of this divine event, elephants are traditionally avoided during the temple festival rituals. The temple’s annual procession symbolizes the sacred connection between Trichambaram and Mazhur temples and is celebrated with immense devotion and enthusiasm.
