Story
According to temple tradition, Lord Parasurama consecrated the Goddess at Thrikkavu while establishing sacred temples across Kerala after reclaiming the land from the sea. The name “Thrikkavu” is believed to have originated from “Thrikkani Kaadu,” referring to the sacred forest region where the divine presence of the Goddess was experienced. Devotees believe that Thrikkavu Bhagavathy is “Sarvabeeshtapradhayini,” the compassionate mother who fulfills the sincere wishes of her devotees. Many local legends speak about the divine protection granted by the Goddess to the people of Ponnani and nearby regions during difficult times, storms, diseases, and social hardships. The temple continues to be a center of faith where devotees seek blessings for education, prosperity, family welfare, and spiritual peace.
